BJP leader Sudesh Verma said on Friday that there is no need to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums, as India would always oppose it tooth and nail.

"Pakistan should understand the sanity of international agreements and stop raising such issues," he said.

Speaking to ANI, Verma said, "The Shimla Agreement clearly mandates that any issue, including Jammu and Kashmir, will be resolved through bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan. So, Pakistan should understand it."

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Friday said that Islamabad will highlight the Kashmir issue at the United Nations and other forums, as bilateralism envisaged in the Shimla Agreement of 1972 has failed to achieve any progress.
