Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday criticised Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav for his remarks on India Incorporated online petition to 'Let Parliament function', saying that the latter should not politicise every issue.
"I am really surprised about the statement given by our senior friend Sharad Yadav ji, who was fighting the Congress party throughout his life and now is comfortable with them for reasons best known to him. Today, the reaction he gave on India inc. online campaign requesting that Parliament should function and GST Bill should be passed is a classic case of 'shooting the messenger'," Naidu told media here.
"Instead of appreciating the campaign, he is trying to find fault with them... You (Sharad Yadav) come from no-Congress' lap to Congress's lap. It is not right to do politics on every matter," he added.
Yadav had earlier slammed the India Inc's online petition by describing it as a campaign of capitalists.
Around 15,000 people, including the country's top industrialists, have signed an online petition asking Members of Parliament to 'Let Parliament Function'.
Industry leaders like Adi Godrej, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Rahul Bajaj, Sunil Munjal, Anu Aga, Ajay Sriram, Sumit Mazumder and Kris Gopalakrishnan are reportedly among those who have signed the petition.
The Parliament has remained deadlocked since the beginning of the Monsoon Session last month.
