Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi taking a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the BJP believed that only one man was running the whole nation.
"The BJP has a belief that there is only one person who runs the whole country. These people forget that a nation cannot be run by one person. Even in Gujarat it were the women who created Amul," said Gandhi, addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh.
"Our belief is that we must empower people as much as possible. Their thinking is to grab power with the help of people and only strengthen one person's hand," he said.
"They talk of fighting against corruption, while there are three ministers in Gujarat cabinet who have spent time in jail. The even overlooked the corruption created by B.S Yedyurappa and re-accommodated him in the party. They do not see corruption in BJP ruled states of Chhattisgarh or Madhya Pradesh," he added.
He further said that the Lok Sabha elections would witness a fight between two ideologies and not two parties.
"We have the Lok Sabha elections ahead, where you will see a fight between two ideologies. There is one that of the Congress, which thinks about the poor and powerful, and believes in the principle of living with all caste and creed, on the other hand you have a party which believes in creating discord between communities," said Gandhi.
"Those people who talk about development in Uttar Pradesh (U.P) are the same people who create atrocities on people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar," he said.

He also said that the Congress gave the people of the country the Right to Information Act (RTI) which was a severe blow to corruption.
"Our government gave you the Right to Information (RTI) bill, which gives you information that was inaccessible earlier under the strict realm of the bureaucrats. Now you can ask questions against anyone," said Gandhi.
"Therefore, RTI has dealt a severe blow to corruption. It is because of the Congress. Also, ultimately, it was the Congress which brought the Lokpal, but they tried to stall that bill as well," he said.
He also talked of creating more employment opportunities for the youth, where he held out hope to match China's manufacturing supremacy in the future.
"BJP always have anger, but we have love in our heart. BJP talks of wiping out Congress. They forget that Congress is not an organization, it is an idea that encompasses all people and says that we must live together irrespective of any caste or creed," said Gandhi.
"Hindus and Muslims of Muzaffarnagar said that there were no differences between the people there, but that it was the outsiders who came and created disturbances and they had to suffer in return. I can vouch the day the youth of Uttar Pradesh get united; they can put all the states in India behind them even including other countries," he said.
"I can tell you that the moment Congress comes to power in U.P, you will see a reversal where people from Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab will come here in search of work," he added.
