BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) prime minister-designate Narendra Modi was given a grand welcome by BJP president Rajnath Singh and seven party Members of Parliament on his arrival in the national capital from Ahmedabad.

Modi and his supporters have since begun their roadshow.

After securing a handsome 337 majority win for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2014 general elections, Modi arrived in Delhi to take part in a roadshow to celebrate his victory, and will also attend a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board at the party headquarters in Lutyen's Delhi.

The BJP has decided to use his journey from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) to the BJP headquarters as a victory procession.

In the board meeting, the party will discuss the future course of action, including the shape and structure of the new government.

The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory asking commuters to avoid certain roads that fall on or around the route that the Modi roadshow will take.

According to the advisory, from 10 a.m.onwards, no traffic exiting from Terminal-3 shall be allowed to go on the Central Spine Road and Tunnel Road and Aerocity.

All traffic shall be diverted straight towards Centaur Hotel and Mahipalpur on National Highway Eight.

BJP flags and posters of Modi have been installed on the route of the roadshow, and party flag-waving supporters of the BJP have expressed hope for good days ahead, and jobs, under Modi's stewardship of the central government.
