Congress leader R.P.N Singh on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to run away from real issues of the farmers and the country.
"The real issue is farmers and the BJP by coming out with slogans and counter pointing at the Congress party should actually be looking out, helping farmers of this country who are in a terrible state. Instead of telling the truth regarding the land acquisition bill they are trying to run away from the issues that face the country and the farmers today," Singh told ANI.
"It is extremely unfortunate that the BJP is trying to run away from real facts, Rahul ji already has said that the questions raised by him in Parliament are not being answered by the people, by the government of the day," he added.
The BJP had earlier on Tuesday hit back at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his criticism of the Centre on the farmers issue and alleged that the former UPA regime led by Dr. Manmohan Singh was 'loot and suitcase ki sarkar'.
