Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre is victimising NGOs which have been raising their voice against the human rights violations in Gujarat.
"They (BJP) have in a very organized way started victimising NGO's which have been raising their voice against the human rights violation committed by the Modi Government in Gujarat or against the loot of natural resources or the destruction of environment going on such as green peace," Bhushan told ANI
"The raid against Teesta Setalvad by the CBI today is the other incident of that, "he added.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earlier raided the residence and office of activist Teesta Setalvad, who has been accused of illegally receiving funds from abroad.
The investigating agency had earlier registered a case against Setalvad for allegedly receiving funds from foreign entities without prior permission from the government.
