Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday warned Pakistan not to interfere and intervene in India's internal matters, especially in the electoral politics of the country.
BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said that India is very clear about not interfering in internal matters of any other country.
"India is very clear of not interfering in internal matters of any other country. Similarly we would expect Pakistan to respect the sentiment of Indian people and not interfere and intervene in our internal matters, specially electoral politics or questions between two democratic parties opposing each other in election affair to question each other or their right to question each other," said Lekhi.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan interior minister, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, had criticized BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, over his statement on Dawood Ibrahim and had warned that the latter could become a major threat to regional peace and cooperation.
Modi had recently claimed that he will bring back Dawood from Pakistan after coming to power.
"I think Pakistan needs to issue a statement so far as involvement in blast is concerned. Is there any involvement which Pakistan is worried about? Is Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan? I think Pakistan should know what they are talking about. Mr Modi made no such statement", Lekhi added.
