The Congress Party on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) indulged in misuse and abuse of power to plot the Uttarakhand conspiracy and said that the nation would give them a befitting reply in the upcoming assembly polls.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala asserted that his party would not bow down neither it will be deterred in wake of the latest political developments in the hill state.
"Extensive use of money and misuse of power was done by BJP leadership. They utterly failed in that sinister attempt then they (BJP) hatched a conspiracy through a fake sting operation," Surjewala told ANI here.
The Congress leader also used the occasion to take potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
"Having failed in all conspiracies and sinister attempts, suddenly President's rule has been imposed in Uttarakhand. 130 crore people of this country are witnessing this saga of conspiracy, misuse, abuse of power as also misuse of money and muscle by both Modi ji and Amit Shah ji," said Surjewala.

"They will be suitably punished like they have been done in Delhi and Bihar. The people of this country will punish them in the five states, which are going to polls," he added.
Surjewala further said that the Congress would not bow down or be intimidated by such sinister conspiracies.
"We will fight this battle legally, constitutionally and more so in court of the people of Uttarakhand and the people of India," he added.
President's rule was imposed in the hill state on Sunday which comes as a major setback to the Congress as Arunachal Pradesh also witnessed similar situation earlier.
The Uttarakhand Assembly has been kept in suspended animation following President's rule in the state.
The recommendation for central rule was made by the Union Cabinet at its emergency meeting last night, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, Harish Rawat-led Uttarakhand government had been asked to prove its majority by March 28, after nine rebel MLAs of the Congress sided with the Opposition BJP to destabilise the government.
