A new study by ProPublica, following the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, reveals that black males between the age of 15 to 19 are 21 times more likely to be killed by police than white teenagers in America.

The study says that black teenagers were killed at a rate of 31.17 per million while white adolescents' rate dropped to 1.47 deaths per million.

ProPublica is an independent public interest news organization that published the recent study called 'Deadly Force in Black and White'.

According to CSMonitor.com, there were 1,217 police shootings reported to the FBI between 2010 and 2012.

An expert said that ProPublica's findings could be twisted based on unreported killings.

The study took 12, 000 incidents of police homicide reported between 1980 and 2012 into consideration.
