BlackBerry sales have reportedly dropped to nearly zero in countries like the United States, China, Spain and Japan, with UK remaining its best-selling area.

According to a new data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, the company's share of sales in the US fell to just 0.8 percent, and to less than a tenth of a percent in China, Spain and Japan.

The collapse in BlackBerry sales points to the problems that have arisen since the company's tried to first sell itself to a private equity group, and then tried and raise 1 billion dollars at the same time as it fired its chief executive Thorsten Heins, the Guardian reports.

Its largest sales share was recorded in the UK at 3.3 percent, but this figure does not indicate how many people are already using BlackBerry handsets, the report added.
