BlackBerry has reportedly sued a company co-founded by media personality Ryan Seacrest, Typo Products LLC, over an iPhone accessory that offered BlackBerry-like functionality.
The company's first accessory for iPhone, the Typo Keyboard, which is a slip-on cover for Apple's flagship product, is touted to turn the touch-screen smartphone into a BlackBerry.
BlackBerry's general counsel and chief legal officer, Steve Zipperstein said that it was a blatant infringement against their iconic keyboard and they would vigorously protect our intellectual property against any company that attempts to copy their unique design, Cnet reports.
According to the report, the product has been widely touted as a way to turn an iPhone into a BlackBerry and is set to debut at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
