One person was killed in an explosion in Manipur this morning ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state.
The victim, an 11-year-old boy, was playing in a farm land when the explosion took place.
"I was lying in my bed, we heard a sound but did not give much importance thinking it might be from a gun because we keep hearing such sounds. But my daughter's elder daughter named Sonia came crying saying that her younger brother has been torn into pieces in a blast which took place in the fields," said victim's grandfather, Muhammad Nasiruddin on Saturday.
The bomb is reportedly said to be planted by militants, though no militant group has claimed responsibility so far. Security officials are investigating the matter.
