The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is dissatisfied with the search body formed for the next Election Commission.
Earlier on Friday, the BNP alleged that those loyal to the ruling Awami League family have been included in the search committee, adding it was not possible for this body to form a fair Election Commission.
"Filled by those loyal to Awami League family, it will be not possible for this search committee to constitute a neutral next Election Commission," the Daily Star quoted BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as saying during the press briefing at party office.
"It is a big disappointment for the people by forming such a search committee," he added.
The search committee was formed by Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid to select the potential Election Commissioners to reconstitute the election governing body ahead of the next parliament elections.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia had floated the proposal for talks regarding formation of the search committee and handed over her charter of proposals to the President.
