An additional district court in Bokaro rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Giriraj Singh on Monday.
"The court has fixed the date for today to hear the case on Giriraj Singh, where the district court has rejected the bail application of the BJP leader. The court listened to both parties. The court has said that the police is free to take its actions, and it entirely depends on them as to what they will do," additional public prosecutor, Sanjay Kumar Jha said.
The application was moved after an FIR was lodged by the Sub- Divisional- Officer (SDO) of Bokaro against Giriraj Singh following his alleged hate-speech during an election rally a few days ago.
Two separate FIRs were lodged against him in Jharkhand - one in Bokaro and another in Deogarh - for making an inflammatory speech during the campaigning for the general election.
Last week, the Patna Civil Court had granted anticipatory bail to Giriraj Singh over his remark that critics of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be sent to Pakistan.
