Top Bollywood stars like Hema Malini, Smriti Irani, Vinod Khanna and Paresh Rawal, have entered the lower house of the Indian Parliament in 2014.
Soap opera "bahu" Smriti Irani grabbed the cabinet rank as HRD minister under Modi's cabinet, while Hema Malini, who had a BJP ticket from Mathura succeeded by around 3.5 lakh votes, and Kirron Kher, also a BJP candidate, achieved victory in Chandigarh by around 69 thousand votes.
Among male actors Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha and Paresh Rawal also entered the parliament with major triumphs from their respective constituencies.
Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari, BJP candidate, and singer Babul Supriyo conquered Delhi North East constituency and West Bengal's Asansol respectively.
Moon Moon Sen, who contested from a TMC seat also got elected with great numbers.
