Bombings by Boko Haram kill at least 49 in Nigeria

At least 49 people have been killed in blasts in two towns of Nigeria, Yola and Kano, on Wednesday by the Boko Haram terrorist group.

According to News24, At least 34 people were killed and another 80 wounded in Yola, a town packed with refugees from Nigeria's Islamic uprising.

Later on Wednesday, two more suicide bombers killed at least 15 people in the northern city of Kano and injured 53, according to police.

The blasts were the latest by Boko Haram, Nigeria's home-grown extremists who have killed 20,000 and forced 2.3 million to flee their homes in their six-year insurgency.

 

Boko Haram was named on Wednesday as the world's most deadly extremist group in the Global Terrorism Index.
