Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea suffered a defeat in their last match of Ashe-Smith Group to finish second with a 2-1 record at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals on Thursday.
The Italian pair of Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini took just an hour to outclass the Indo-Romanian pair 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 in their round-robin clash.
However, Bopanna and Mergea have already qualified for the semifinals after claiming victory over the World number one Bryan brothers and fourth seeded pairing of Jamie Murray and John Peers.
