Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea remained on course to win this year's Madrid Masters title after they booked their place in the finals of the men's double event here.
The sixth-seed pair Indo-Romanian pair failed to capitalize on their first-set win and went on to lose the second set, before they rebounded strongly to secure a 7-5, 6-7(7-4), 12-10 win over fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo in the semi-final contest.
The defending champions will now take on third-seed pair of Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau, who also stormed into the finals after beating French combine of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
