Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski crashed out of the mixed doubles US Open event as they lost a thrilling quarterfinal match against the pair of Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Gronefeld at Flushing Meadows on Monday.

Bopanna and Dabrowski were beaten 6-1, 2-6, 8-10 by the Colombian-German pair in a match that lasted almost an hour at Court 17.

With the loss, Bopanna's campaign at the US Open has come to an end. He and his men's doubles partner Frederik Nielsen of Denmark were knocked out of the fourth major of the year in the second round last week.

Now, Sania Mirza remains the only Indian in contention at the US Open as she and her Czech partner Barbora Strycova will take on Nicole Gibbs and Nao Hibino in women's doubles third round later in the day.
