Employers are getting frustrated by their failure to communicate with young workers and are turning towards psychologists in a bid to improve relations and boost productivity.
The bosses have claimed that one of the biggest problems is to understand what makes the new generation workers tick.
Workers from younger generation are more likely to send a text message, email or post on Facebook if they are sick instead of calling them up to convey the message.
Employers have complained that many of the GEN Y workers have never worked a day in their life, live at home well into their 20s, and when they do get a job, don't know how to behave properly.
One psychologist told News.com.au that these workers often have an attention span of no more than 5 minutes and are used to doing things based on the sound of a bell or when told.
The psychologist said that unlike earlier generations, these people have grown up in affluent times and with technology and have high expectations and they will not hesitate to leave if they don't like where they are.
