South Australian (SA) captain Johan Botha has insisted that his suspect bowling action in a Ryobi Cup game was legitimate, although he was cleared to play last Wednesday.

Botha, who is now focusing on SA's upcoming Sheffield Shield opener against Queensland, said that although his report against Victoria was no surprise but he stood by the integrity of his action.

According to News.com.au, the former South African Test spinner said that he was prepared for the action as he expected it from the beginning given that it happened twice before to him in the past.

Botha further said that he is through the action like he was in the past and will continue to keep playing, adding that he believes that three times should be enough to prove that everything is fine.

Botha was also cited for a suspect action then cleared representing South Africa against Australia in 2006 and 2009, the report added.
