More women and some men are now opting for botox as a cure to get through a bad breakup, it has been revealed.
Dr. Anne Chapas, of Union Square Laser Dermatology, said that many New York women give themselves time to be sad, but then they snap out of it, join a gym, and make a Botox appointment, the New York Post reported.
Dr. Gervaise Gerstner, L'Oreal Paris consulting dermatologist, doesn't believe the correlation between an internal and external glow is actually so deep, but she does think a couple injections in the forehead are a reliable "pick-me-up."
And, it's not only women who are heading to the derm after a split. Dr. Robert Schwarcz, one of New York's top plastic surgeons, revered for Botox and fillers around the eyes, says about 15 percent of his patients are there to feel better after a breakup or divorce, and his newly single patients are both men and women.
Women do it "for themselves like buying a new pair of expensive shoes. While, male clients are typically over 40, who are looking to appear younger and date younger and they don't just want Botox.
