Eugenie Bouchard, the 13th seed from Canada, reached her third Grand Slam semi-final of the year with a 6-3 6-4 win over German Angelique Kerber.
After 72 minutes of fiercely combative tennis, she also moved into the top-10 of the world rankings for the first time. And the 20-year-old surged forward with a straight sets dismissal of a player high in confidence.
The Canadian will now face third seed Simona Halep in the semi-finals, the latter who won in the other women quarter-finals match held today of the Wimbledon.
