Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been released from an undisclosed hospital, in time to celebrate his 73rd birthday on January 17, after being admitted on account of suffering from a severe urinary tract infection.

Family spokesperson Bob Gunnell said that former three-time heavy weight champion was back home and looking forward to celebrate his 73rd birthday on 17 January with his family and friends, adding that he was back in his daily routine, Sport24 reported.

Initially, it was believed that Ali had been diagnosed with a mild case of pneumonia. Doctors, later, admitted that Ali was suffering from a severe urinary tract infection and not pneumonia, the report added.

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1984, three years after his retirement from boxing.
