Filipino senator and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao wants to come out of his retirement to fight again later this year, according to the boxer's long-time promoter.

Bob Arum, who has promoted Pacquiao since 2005, stated that the 37-year-old boxer-turned-politician has given his nod to look for a venue as well as an opponent to fight in Las Vegas, news.com.au reported.

According to the promoter, they have been trying to find a suitable date that wouldn't interfere with the boxer's senatorial responsibilities and his ability to train.

Pacquiao, boxing's only eight-division titleholder, is likely to fight either Oct. 29 or Nov. 5 in the main event of an HBO pay-per-view card in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao boasts an enviable record of 58 wins in his 66 professional fights. His last defeat was against Floyd Mayweather during a heavily anticipated bout last year.

The boxing legend, who called curtains on his illustrious career after beating Timothy Bradley by unanimous decision in April, was elected to the Philippines senate a month later.
