Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott believes that skipper Eoin Morgan reminds him of former Australian cricketer Michael Bevan due to his ultimate finishing abilities.
Morgan, who received severe criticism for his dismal performance during England's defeat against New Zealand and Australia, smacked a brisk 46 runs off 42 balls in the World Cup tie against Scotland.
Reflecting on Morgan's performance, Boycott said that the great thing he liked about Morgan coming in was that by the time he got in there weren't many overs left.
Terming Morgan's innings as sparkling, Boycott further said that Morgan was at his best as a finisher, adding that when he is lower down the order, he could hit sixes and find the gaps, and reminds him of Michael Bevan as he was quite inventive, the BBC reported.
Earlier, Boycott had criticized Morgan, saying that the skipper lacks cleverness while facing top-class bowlers of the world.
