New Zealand have suffered another injury blow with seam bowler Doug Bracewell ruled out of the second Test of the two-match series against Australia due to a shoulder strain on Wednesday.

Bracewell became the third player after veteran batsman Ross Taylor and young spinning all-rounder Mitchell Santner to miss the final match at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Saturday due to injury.

The 25-year-old experienced discomfort in his right shoulder during New Zealand's innings and 52-run loss in the first test in Wellington and a subsequent scan revealed a strain in his rotator cuff muscle, Stuff.co.nz reported.

According to the New Zealand Cricket, no replacement will be added in the squad with Matt Henry favoured to replace Bracewell ahead of left-armer Neil Wagner.
