The festival of colours, Holi, will be observed across the nation tomorrow, and markets are abuzz with demand for coloured powder and pichkaris or water guns.

Rajkot City in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat is no exception to this demand. Here, however, the festival of Holi will be observed differently, thanks to the continuing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bazars in Rajkot are selling pichkaris of different kinds, including ones shaped with split mages of Prime Minister Modi. Here, Holi is apparently also known as Dhuketi.

Owners of shops said the sale of Narendra Modi branded pichkaris has been brisk, as also pichkaris shaped with cartoon characters like Chhota Bhim and others.

The Modi branded pichkari is being sold for Rs.125 a piece, said Jayeshbhai, a shop owner.

Byuers expressed their delight over seeing the Modi branded pichkaris and some of them purchased them immediately.

"I have seen many pichkaris, but the moment I saw the Modi branded pichkari, I bought it. He (Narendra Modi) is veru popular and we still love him,"said Dipesh Gohel, a customer.

It is being claimed that over a thousand Modi branded pichkaris have been sold in Rajkot.

Small town residents and villagers are also buying these pichkaris.
