Five-time world champions Brazil thrashed Spain 3-0 to win the Confederations Cup in a one-sided final at a loud Maracana Stadium, with striker Fred scoring twice.

According to Sky Sports, Brazil started the game with a goal within just two minutes, with Fred finishing off a strike from Neymar that bounced off the post, and the Spaniards looked tame in front of the hosts' attack.

Brazil doubled their lead before the break with Neymar smashing the ball into the roof of the net, from a neat pass made by Oscar.

The Brazilian fans cheered on as Fred steered the ball into the corner of the net once again just two minutes after the interval, with Casillas only being able to get a hand to it.

Spain's woes were further increased when Gerard Pique was red-carded for bringing a man down with twenty minutes still to play, and the European and World Champions also had a penalty decision go against them at the start of the match along with missing one later.
