Australian filmmaker Justin Sisely, who controversially filmed 'Virgins Wanted,' a documentary where a man and a woman auctioned off their virginity, has transformed the film into a reality series.

The project in the beginning was supposed to be a feature-length documentary but now Sisely is promoting it as a reality TV series - set to debut at MIPCOM, an entertainment trade fair in October in Cannes.

Sisely told The Huffington Post that now the film is a factual series and he has signed a distribution contract with a leading global multi-national distributor of TV content.

After seeing the overwhelming response, Sisely is now hoping to create a franchise.

He said that they have received over 500 videos of men and women from all over the world outlining why they should be the next person to auction off their virginity.
