Doctors at Sao Paulo Albert Einstein hospital have confirmed that Brazilian football legend Pele will be discharged from the hospital today after being admitted to undergo treatment due to a urinary infection.
According to a hospital statement, the medical team has programmed his release for today as he has recovered well, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Earlier, Pele released a video message confirming that he has recovered, while thanking his fans for the prayers and wishes.
In addition, a hospital statement earlier revealed that Pele was doing well without medical complications, and was lucid and eating well.
Widely regarded as the finest player to play the game, Pele had an operation to remove kidney stones earlier this month.
Pele won three World Cups as a player and has been named Football Player of the Century by FIFA, Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and a national treasure by Brazilian government.
