The held up dialogue between Afghanistan and Taliban is likely to resume due to the efforts of Pakistan and other stakeholders.

A high-ranking Pakistani official told the Express Tribune that some breakthrough in the revival of talks between Afghanistan government and Taliban representative is expected in the coming.

Revival of peace process is one of the main agenda of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his upcoming state visit to the United States, official added.

Though, the daily national mentions that this claim is quite contrary to the on-ground realities between the two nations.

The Afghanistan officials have held Pakistan responsible for the current unrest in the country.

On the other hand, Pakistani officials state that 'anti-Pakistan elements' are causing hindrances and trying to undermine the relation between the two countries.
