ANI New Delhi

It seems that the consumers across the country are in for a breather as hovering retail price of Tur dal is starting to decrease, as per the government.

PIB director general Frank Noronha, on Tuesday, tweeted that many outlets in Delhi-NCR have started selling Tur dal at Rs.120 per kg against current market price hovering Rs 200-220 per kg.

"400 outlets of #Safal & 100 outlets of #KendriyaBhandar in #Delhi/NCR have started selling #ToorDal at Rs 120 per kg," he twitted.

"#States are also carrying out surprise inspections & raids to enforce #stock limits. Quantities have been seized in some states like #MadhyaPradesh, #Karnataka , #AndhraPradesh, #Telangana etc," he said in a series of tweets.

Retail Tur dal prices have shot up to Rs. 200 per kg despite the government's steps to boost supply and check prices, aggravating consumers' woes. Till last week, Tur dal was available at Rs 185 per kg in the retail market.
