UK Sport has backtracked on a threat to withdraw lottery funding from athletes who visit strip clubs, after it released a list of examples of unacceptable behaviour.

According to Stuff.co.nz, the body, which oversees funding for British Olympic and Paralympic athletes, had warned against attending a lap dancing or strip club regardless of gender.

It has since removed the guideline, the report said.

A statement from UK Sport said that they accepted that one of they examples they included was not helpful and subsequently led to confusion, adding that they have, therefore taken the decision to remove the example.

Other misdemeanors remaining on the list include telling sexist jokes, tweeting or re-tweeting racist comments, and desecrating a memorial or religious shrine, the report added.
