A study has revealed that the cost of absenteeism of workers has put British economy to an estimated 15 billion pounds a year loss.
The Scotsman reports that survey has shown one in eight workers have been faking for sick days.
According to the report, British workers took twice as many sick days as those in the United States.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has said that such a demand was a major burden at a time when businesses need to be investing for growth.
The cost to both public and private sectors of continued absenteeism was enormous, report added.
