Former wicketkeeper-batsman Courtney Browne has been appointed as West Indies' new chairman of selectors, replacing Clive Lloyd.

Browne, who has represented West Indies in 20 Tests and 46 one-dayers, has been a member of the senior men's selection panel and was given a two-year term as the chairman.

Lloyd, who led West Indies to two World Cup triumphs, will be appointed as a special ambassador effective from October 1, according to the West Indies Cricket Board.

West Indies must beat South Africa in Bridgetown in order to set up a tri-series finale against Australia on Sunday.
