Bruce Willis, Mitch Glazer set to bring 'Bandits' to big screen

Bruce Willis and Mitch Glazer have teamed up to make Elmore Leonard's novel 'Bandits,' into a big screen adaptation.

Willis would play the lead role in an ensemble drama that Glazer would pen, while Emmett Furla Oasis' Randall Emmett and George Furla will finance, and produce with The Gotham Group's Lee Stollman and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Deadline.com reported.

Willis and Glazer had worked together during 2014's 'Rock The Kasbah.'

The story is a black comedy, set in New Orleans and Willis will play Jack Delaney, an ex-con who is struggling to stay on the straight path as he dresses up corpses as a mortician in his brother's funeral home.

 

Willis had optioned the rights when it was published in 1987, but had let the rights lapse.

EFO's Tim Sullivan and Brandon Grimes will act as co-producers while Wayne Marc Godfrey exec produces. The author's sons Peter Leonard, who oversees his father's estate, will also be exec producer along with the author's grandson Tim Leonard.
