The trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed 43.19 points down to stand at 28,420.12 on Monday.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE), on the other hand, closed 6.40 points down to stand at 8,603.45.
Gitanjali Gems Ltd. and Welspun Corp Ltd. were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 13.96 percent and 9.98 percent respectively.
The stocks of Gati Ltd. and Polaris Consulting and Services Limited increased by 6.67 percent and 6.99 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, the top losers in group A include Karnataka Bank Ltd. and Federal Bank Ltd. with a decrease of 8.74 percent and 6.92 percent.
The auto sector is up by 4.09 points and stood at 18,935.77 points while the banking sector is down by 72.64 points and stood at 21,839.54 points. The realty sector dipped by 27.13 points and closed at 1,384.45 points.
