"Till now, reports say that three militants and three civilians have been killed. Even now, there is some intermittent firing going on with a militant. As far as numbers are concerned, there are at least four militants but there may be more," said BSF Inspector General Rajesh Kumar.
Additional forces have been deployed while others districts have been issued an alert to brush up security on national highways in major towns.
According to reports, the militants snuck into Indian territory by taking advantage of unprovoked small arms firing from across the border earlier today. The BSF had cordoned off the area after the villagers reported the movement of militants.
