The Border Security Force (BSF) has handed a list of camps used by North East insurgents to their counterparts in Bangladesh, reports said.
"We have requested our counterparts in Bangladesh for cooperation in dismantling the camps of insurgents from the region. We have handed over a list of 66 camps that exist in Bangladesh," Sudhir Kumar Srivastava, IG, BSF Assam Frontier, said.
The camps include those of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), People's Liberation Army of Manipur (PLA), Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland and Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), among others.
According to Srivastava, Brigadier General Habibul Karim of Bangladesh has assured action against the camps. At present, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Assam share a 1,880-km border with Bangladesh.
The two border forces are reportedly scheduled to meet in New Delhi on Wednesday.
