Offering its hard working personnel a break from their routines, the Border Security Force (BSF) organised a fair ahead of Diwali at its Frontier Headquarters in Siliguri, West Bengal.

The families of BSF personnel and local residents thronged the fair and took part in various competitions. Both children and elderly were seen enjoying at the various shopping stalls and eateries put up at the fair. Special games were also organised for the children.

"The motive behind organising this fair is to make our soldiers and officials who are deployed at the borders and perform very difficult duties, especially those who stay away from their families, feel good and to reduce the stress in their lives," said Inspector General (IG), North Bengal Frontier, BSF, Kamal Nayan Choubey.

The BSF personnel made the most of this opportunity to unwind so much so that a dance performance by them became the highlight of the fair. The performance ended with a thunderous applause from the audience.

The fair was also a part of the BSF's ongoing year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations.
