BSF inducts two MI - 17 V5 choppers into its air wing

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday inducted two advanced MI - 17 V5 choppers into its Air Wing to boost its surveillance and operational capabilities.

The helicopters are capable of operating at night in highly demanding environments and will boost the flying capability of BSF.

The Russian-made choppers will help the troops along the borders in the anti-Maoist operation.

"These two helicopters are very modern and among the finest helicopters in the world. We know how BSF has been guarding the nation. The air wing of BSF needs to be strengthened further," said Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju whow as present at the event.

 

According to reports, the BSF currently uses six M I-17 V1, six ALH (Dhruv) and one Cheetah helicopter.
