BSF lodges protest with Pak Rangers over Arnia ceasefire violation

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday lodged a formal protest with the Pakistan Rangers over a cease-fire violation along the International Border in Arnia, Jammu and Kashmir.

BSF sources said that one of their personnel was injured during the cease-fire violation by the Pakistan Rangers early on Friday morning.

The BSF retaliated to the violation and said that there was no loss of life.

The BSF said in a statement that the Pakistani Rangers had fired a few bullets warning troops working ahead of the fence in Arnia area in Jammu.

He said that BSF troops counter fired. The exchange of fire also included the firing of mortar shells.

 

Friday's ceas-fire violation came a day after a woman was killed and her husband injured during a cease-fire violation by Pakistan in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.

The deceased was identified as Akhtar Begum and the injured as Mohammad Hanief.

The couple was hit by a mortar shell. They were taken to the local hospital, but the woman died.
