Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said the Border Security Force (BSF) should join hands with the Skill Development Ministry.
He was speaking after inaugurating supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) at BSF Camp, Chhawla here.
"It is my proposal that the BSF should join hands with Skill Development Ministry to impart training of new skills like technology to its personnel and their family members," Pradhan said.
He said the BSF not only guards country's borders but also plays an important role in country's internal security.
"The BSF not only guards India's borders but also plays an important role in the country's internal security. It is deployed in my home state Odisha and neighbouring Jharkhand," Pradhan said.
The Union Minister also assured the BSF DG that the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry would extend helping hand to the BSF Wives Welfare Association, which mainly works for the welfare of the widows of BSF jawans.
