BSNL MobiKwik wallet clocks in 10 million GMV

State-run BSNL and Indian mobile wallet major MobiKwik's co-branded wallet has registered over Rs.10 million GMV within the first 45 days of its launch. The wallet was launched in August by the honourable Minister of Telecom, Mr Manoj Sinha.

According to Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL,"BSNL-MobiKwik wallet is an initiative to include semi-urban and rural India into the digital payments economy. We are enthralled by the initial response received, and hope to have 10-fold growth in GMV within the next 12 months."

With over 1.5 million merchants on the network, the BSNL Wallet is India's largest wallet by any telecom company. The wallet had been developed and issued by MobiKwik on behalf of BSNL. The app enables fastest online recharges, bill payments, shopping and bus booking. It is also the most secure, simple, and fastest way to recharge one's mobile phone. Users can get all top-ups, SMS, data (GPRS, 2G, 3G & 4G), local, STD, ISD, postpaid, DTH plans, vouchers & full talk time recharge offers. They can also pay for IRCTC train tickets with BSNL wallet.

 

According to Bipin Preet Singh, founder and CEO, MobiKwik, "It is our vision to empower every Indian with easy access to digital payments and all financial services. This milestone further strengthens our belief in masses' disposition towards digital payments.
