A Buddhist monk, Gashe Lobsang Dawa, delivered lectures on detailed Buddhist studies in Dharamsala, making it easier for several Tibetans, nuns, monks and others to grasp the meaning of the Dalai Lama's sermons.

This initiative was a part of a weekly programme launched since 2005 to spread awareness about Buddhist subjects among the citizens of the city and people from all religions, castes or creeds.

"This is like a study about Buddhism, like an academic. So any person can come, be it a Buddhist, Hindu, believer or non-believer, "said Lobsang Dawa

Tibetan woman devotee Tsering Palden said, these lessons will make her concepts more clear about Buddhism and will help her to grasp the meaning of the Dalai Lama's sermons.

"These teaching teach us the basics of Buddhism and our teacher went into the details and depth of these teachings so that we have a better understanding. A few years back when we attended his holiness teachings, we couldn't understand much but now we do, said Palden.
