Pune-based businessman Ajay Chordia on Monday was found dead in the room of a luxury hotel in Pimpri-Chinchwad, on the outskirts of the city.
According to reports, Chordia was found hanging in a room of the Double Tree hotel of the township. The police are treating the case as a suicide, though investigations are still ongoing.
The Chordia family is said to have close ties with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and its chief Sharad Pawar. Further, Pawar's daughter and NCP Member of Parliament (MP) Supriya Sule and her husband both own stock in the Chordia firm.
