C. Vidyasagar Rao sworn in as Maharashtra Governor

Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao today took oath of office and secrecy as new Governor of Maharashtra.

Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Mohit Shah administered the oath of office to new Governor here at a function in Rajbhavan..

Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli, who was holding additional charge of Maharashtra, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Union Shipping Minister Nitin Gadakari, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar among other dignitaries were present at the occasion and greeted the new Governor.

After the swearing-in ceremony new Governor was given guard of honour by the state police force.

Hailing from Karimnagar district of Telengana, The 73 -year-old new Governor Rao had served as the minister of state for home in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. He was also the state BJP president in united Andhra Pradesh and was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Karimnagar.
