Cabinet apprised of India-Palestine pact on IT and electronics

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Palestine on cooperation in the field of information technology and electronics (IT&E).

The agreement intends to promote closer cooperation in the areas of e-Governance, m-Governance, e-Public Services Delivery, cyber security, software technology parks and start-ups ecosystem, an official statement said here.

"The MoU shall come into effect from date of signature of the parties and shall remain in force for a period of five years," it said.

"The MoU shall be implemented by establishing a working group on IT&E composed of representatives of the two parties. Bilateral cooperation in information and communication technology domain both business-to-business (B2B) and group-to-group will be enhanced. It envisages improving B2B collaboration leading to employment opportunities," it added.

 

The cabinet also approved an MoU between India and Palestine on cooperation in health and medicine.

The MoU was signed on 16th May,2017 and the areas of cooperation are as follows:

1) Exchange and training of medical doctors

2) Capacity building of health staff;

3) Prevention and control of communicable diseases;

4) Physiotherapy and rehabilitation;

5) Drugs, pharmaceuticals and Medical Equipments; and

6) Any other area of mutual interest.
