The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) amongst BRICS nations on Regional Aviation Partnership.
The government aims for the BRICS nations to benefit from the establishment of an institutional framework to corporate in the field of civil aviation.
The cabinet released an official statement which said that the MoU will be an important landmark in civil aviation between BRICS nations and India. Also, it would spur trade and investment.
"The MoU signifies an important landmark in the civil aviation relations between India and the other BRICS Member States and has the potential to spur greater trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges amongst the BRICS Nations," read the statement.
Public policies in regional services, airport infrastructure management, and air navigation services, regional airports, environment sustainability, including deliberation of global initiatives, innovation were identified as other areas of cooperation.
